15.000 lei, state support to increase birth rate

The Ministry of Family has put a draft in the decision-making transparency, in which it wants to make changes to a Government decision of 2022, concerning the birth rate increase program.
One of the main changes is that only one member of the couple must be a Romanian citizen.
Until now it was required that both partners, married or not, be Romanian citizens, which led to a number of complaints from those who were unable to access the programme.
At the same time, it will be possible to submit application documents electronically to the Ministry of Family.
Last year, the programme was particularly successful, the institution says. More than 26.000 applications were received, of which some 9.300 contracts were signed.
Some 2.200 pregnancies were confirmed and 156 babies were born.
The state support for increased birth rate - either for in vitro fertilisation or other procedures - consists of financial aid in the form of two vouchers worth 15.000 lei.
