The electoral campaign for the presidential elections started last midnight and will end on November 23 at 7:00. 14 candidates are running - 10 backed by political parties and four independents.

We hear from Catalin Purcaru who explains the rules for the candidates: "Electoral contestants are obliged to remove all promotional materials they have used so far. The president of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Toni Grebla, says that only activities and materials allowed by law can be used, such as election posters in specially designated places, audio and video propaganda materials, brochures and leaflets.

Toni Grebla: "It is forbidden to use any other type of propaganda, including vehicles inscribed or stickered with campaign slogans or images of candidates, as well as the organization of shows, celebrations, fireworks, the use of banners, mesh, advertising tents."

The electoral campaign for the election of the President of Romania will end on November 23 at 7:00. Voting in the country will take place on Sunday, November 24, between 7:00 - 21:00. If there are voters in line or in the precinct when the polls close, the president of the polling station may order an extension of voting until 23:59, when the system will automatically close. Voters can only vote in the locality where they have their domicile or residence, and in Bucharest, only in the sector where they are registered on the permanent lists. The address of the voter's polling station can be found on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority. Voters who are in another locality can vote at any polling station and are entered on the supplementary lists. Romanian citizens domiciled or residing abroad can vote either by correspondence, if they have chosen this option, or at any polling station organized in the country or abroad."
