The number of serious accidents registered during the Christmas mini-holiday is decreasing compared to previous years.

There is also a downward trend in violent crimes, say MIA representatives.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the last two days, the police intervened in over 6.200 events, but there were no serious situations.

13.000 sanctions worth over four million lei were imposed.

Monica Dajbog, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs: In the last two days, 522 driving licenses and 142 registration certificates were seized. I would like to mention that the number of serious traffic accidents registered during the Christmas holiday is decreasing compared to previous years. Thus, the number of serious accidents decreased by 44& compared to 2018, and compared to 2019 by 53%. With regard to crimes committed with violence, and we are referring here to murder, attempted murder or robbery, the downward trend of recent years continues. Compared to 2018, there is a decrease of 38%, and compared to 2019 - 33%.
