12 border crossing points with Hungary will remain open after September 1 for the transit of Romanian citizens, given that, from tomorrow, the neighboring country will re-impose border restrictions for foreigners, as part of measures to limit the transmission of the new coronavirus.
According to a statement, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Marcel Vela, spoke today by telephone with his Hungarian counterpart, Sandor Pinter, and, at the proposal of the Romanian authorities, Hungary agreed to keep in operation four more border crossing points, in addition to the eight initially communicated.
International freight traffic will not be restricted, as it will take place under the same conditions as before.
