Florin Citu announced his resignation from the Romanian Senate leadership

Florin Citu decided to submit his mandate from the Senate leadership after the group of PNL senators informed him that they were withdrawing his political support for this position.

The announcement was made by the PNL president, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca.

"Discussions and debates took place, and after them the President of the Senate, Mr. Senator Florin Citu, announced his resignation. The position of President of the Senate, with delegation of powers, will be exercised by Senator Alina Gorghiu", announced Nicolae Ciuca.
